Our Vision
When we started out in East Reading we couldn't see beyond the first few lessons - we were simply responding to a call for help from one local school. It was an opportunity we could not ignore - but we had no idea where it would lead.
We soon saw how well received our lessons were by teachers and pupils. As other schools became interested we became more ambitious in our vision: for local churches to become fully engaged in supporting their local schools in the religious education and spiritual development of their pupils.
As we've worked with this vision in mind we've seen the benefits for both churches and schools when pupils learn about faith by encounters with people of faith. So now, as we encourage others to get involved with their own local schools through RE our vision has grown:
Our Vision is to see all school pupils' spiritual development and religious education enhanced by creative engagement with people of faith in an educational framework.
It's a big bold vision. We don't expect it to be achieved quickly or easily. But if it wasn't big and bold it wouldn't be much of a vision. And it's been shaped by our experience of what God has shown.
It's a vision is shaped by our experience and prayer.
