Lost Sheep
Age: Y1, Y2This session explores the parable of the lost sheep and the concept of the Good shepherd. Children explore the story by assuming the role of the 'good shepherd' and creating their own flock employing drama, storytelling and craft.
Death Funerals and the Christian Response
Age: Y5, Y6This session explores what happens when someone dies - not only to the person who has died but also to those bereaved. After a presentation on funerals we use small-group workshops to consider: the journey of grief; memorials; and Christian beliefs about what happens to people after they die.
Faith and the Arts
Age: Y5, Y6Ideas about faith are found in art in all its forms. In this session children experience some works in different media that have a Christian theme. They consider how and why Christians might use these in church and everyday life.
Rules Christians Live By
Age: Y4, Y5, Y6This session explores the rules and code that Christians try to live by through 3 small group activities looking at the Ten Commandments, the sermon on the mount and forgiveness to. Children discover where these rules come from in the bible; what they might mean for us today and why they are important. Finally it considers: do the same rules apply when one enters the virtual world of play and gaming?
The Story of Noah
Age: FOUNDATIONThis session explores the story of Noah in the style of Godly play. The story of Noah is 'played out' in front of the small group of children as the story is told.
Wander and Wonder
Age: Y1, Y2This session is a reworking of a 'Visit to a Church Building' using a treasure hunt theme that helps the children explore the church and ask questions about things they see that interest or puzzle them.
